Scott Brown
It’s time for the Democrats to step back, take a deep breath, and recalibrate. The stunning loss last night for the democrat’s senate race in Massachusetts to Republican Scott Brown should send political shock waves to liberal politicians across the country. This was the seat Ted Kennedy held for 5 decades and now it’s in republican hands. So what happened? If you listen to the main stream media (MSM) pundits they’ll tell you it’s because of ethics probes with the local democrats, or Martha ran a campaign worthy of political malpractice or that Brown ran a clever campaign. Chris Matthews, the pMSNBC left winger, chalked it up to Coakley’s ill timed vacation during the Christmas holidays. But the one excuse that still has me scratching my head...
Shovel Ready Jobs, Right–AKA Increased Taxes
After the fanfare and good tidings which created that tingling sensation that ran up and down our spines when Barack Obama and team redistributed more of our federal tax dollars through the TARP scheme for “shovel ready” jobs (remember Jobs, Jobs, Jobs) it’s time to see exactly what the consequences are. First of all, no one can really document the success or inherent failure of the bailout because much of the statistics reported on the government web site are fictitious, listing districts and towns that don’t exist as having received dollars from nanny. We do know that most of the money has never been spent even though we were told that we must act immediately. Today on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer, our liberal governor, “slick...
Mammograms
The USPSTF, (United States Preventive Services Task Force) a panel of independent medical experts but part of the US Department of Health and Human Services, said it was recommending against annual mammograms for women between the ages of 40 and 49, saying the risks outweighed the benefits from earlier screening. That …announcement, which goes against a trend of recommending increased screening by cancer agencies, has left many confused. This is especially true since the American Cancer Society and the ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) disagree with the recommendation. Now honestly, If you are a woman reading this, how do you feel about the recent recommendation by the government panel of “medical experts?” Guys, how do you...
Philadelphia is a Great Example of Liberal Politics
It’s hidden deep on page B1 of the Philadelphia Inquirer and barely recognizable in the shroud of a local opinion column, but the facts are there. Philadelphia, one of the Northeast bastions of liberal politics and appointed research laboratory for all that Obamanation stands for, demonstrates the waste and inefficiency of the so-called stimulus money, provided and funded, by the taxpayer’s hard earned money. Under the superb and brilliant leadership of slick Eddie (Democrat Ed Rendell former mayor of Philadelphia and now Governor) Pennsylvania ranks 50th in creating new jobs from the $787 billion federal stimulus program. We have an unemployment rate of 8.8%. As Karen Heller (local columnist) puts it, “the stimulus was supposed to...
Disappointment or Anger?
http://bit.ly/1DQsBL Check this out by Peggy Noonan. I think in addition to disappointment the American people are feeling right now, there is a real sense of fear and anger. Next week there are important elections (Governors races in Virginia and New Jersey) which present the first real opportunity for the American people to communicate to our POTUS what we think of his ultra liberal administration and policies since we erred in electing him. In addition to Virginia and New Jersey where the polls show both Republican candidates to be leading, the New York District 23 race pitted a liberal democrat, vs. a liberal republican, vs. a Reagan Conservative. Today the liberal republican dropped out of the race because she was loosing in the polls. The...
