I seldom do this.  In fact I’ve never done it since I started blogging several weeks ago.  But,  I’m willing to take a chance and introduce you to my lovely wife.   Kathy participated in a Tea Party today and I’ve asked her to share.

Today I did something that I’m proud of–I stepped off the sidelines and got involved.  I participated in one of the many tea parties held throughout the nation.

It was tea party that truly originated with the people.  I met two men and one woman who had each organized their own grass roots movements to protest government intervention and excessive spending.

I loved reading the slogans and singing patriotic songs and listening to those who had served their country .   I loved being  among elderly, middle aged, young adults, and even teens who all agree that government is out of control.  And in this age of partisanship I loved standing side by side with Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.

I realize that I can’t be silent anymore.  I have to show up and speak up for what I believe.
