Frankenstein on Steroids

Look, I’m a simple minded person so let me help simplify the hoop-la going on in Washington surrounding the proposals for government takeover of your health-care.  First of all, it’s not “Obamacare” because BO has no bill. Although not as catchy, it’s more accurate to call it Pelosi-Reid care since BO has turned over the responsibility of writing this 1000 page bill of Frankenstein proportion to Nancy and Harry.   All you have to remember is,  regardless of which bill is passed (senate version or house version) , if it’s split apart, if it’s passed one step at a time, the ultimate goal of the current democrat leadership in the house and senate is to dismantle the finest health care system in the world currently available and establish a single payer system managed by government and payed for by you the taxpayers. Obama, Barney Frank, Pelosi and Reid have all stated in no uncertain terms they want a single payer plan.  Forget about the so-called death panels, public option, illegal aliens, health rationing, and funding for abortion, for now.  If they’re not in this first version that’s passed, it’s in the next step, or the next until there’s a single payer “postal like” health care system.   In defending the claim that “you can keep the plan you currently have if you like it,” BO sought to provide evidence that competition (the government option) would not harm your current BC/BS plan by comparing the government plan to the postal service. He went on to say that Federal Express and UPS had performed much better than the post office and in fact grown their share of business.  Duh.
What a gaffe. The post office is near bankruptcy because of poor management and service.  I’ve been trying for over a year to have the post office correctly send me my mail instead of sending to my son’s  (Richard Lee) address.  We’ve written, called and even visited in person and just this week Lee had to bring me pieces of my mail he continues to incorrectly receive.  Now that’s your government in action that wants to provide single service healthcare. If they can’t figure out how to deliver mail accurately and within budget, why on God’s green earth do we think they can take our appendicts out and leave the small intestine intact?  That’s why we can’t afford to get caught up and distracted  in all the political moral agruments about healthcare “reform.”  Everyone wants to increase effeciencies and make sure that insurance companies don’t drop people who become ill.  But, a crisis?  No.  Most people are covered and are satisfied with their current plan.  Dismantle what is working?  No.  And don’t give me that WWJD (what would Jesus do for those of you non-church goers).  Jesus wanted to take care of the poor and I believe he expects each of us to do our part in reaching out to help but he didn’t want Rome or Caesar to manage it by raising our taxes.  For example, some of the best known, best managed hospital systems in the country are overseen and managed by the Catholics, Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists, Jewish Organizations, and the Methodists.  Ever heard of “Baptist Hospital,” “St. Thomas Hospital,” or “Beth Israel.”    Don’t be fooled, if the bill that is currently in the democrat controlled house or senate is passed by the current libs in Washington, it’s a step in the direction  toward single payer coverage. Is that what we really want?
